1. Unwind with a movie

Did you know PearlArts Studios has a monthly movie night called PearlWatch? That’s right! Every month we feature a different movement or sound themed movie. From documentaries to art films and early 2000s throwbacks, we have a wide selection! Remember snacks, drinks, pillows, blankets, your significant other(s), your platonic friend(s), and some tissues for the crazy beautiful performances you'll see.
When: Thursday, January 16 @ 6:30 PM

2. Watch a Riveting Performance

Get yourself over to PearlArts Studios January 25 for a first look at _lostncompleX, a new work by Latrea Derome, a STAYCEE PEARL dance project dancer. _lostncompleX is an exploration of self discovery and an acknowledgement of being on life's journey while having no real sense of direction. The work is presented as part of insideTRACK, a new residency that supports our company dancers as they step into the role of choreographer.
When: Saturday, January 25 @ 7:00 PM

3. Take a trip to NYC!

STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos is heading to New York for BIFOLD. BIFOLD is a shared program of works by SBDNY and SPdp&SS, continuing a dynamic touring partnership between the two companies. SBDNY performs a new production of the critically acclaimed work Nudity from 2013 (Notable Performances in ArtsATL Year-End Review). SPdp&SS exists to interpret and mirror culture and community through dance and dance centered multi-media experiences. The company will perform CIRCLES a work that contains multi-media snapshots and an eclectic sound world that navigates societal conceptions of blackness from a female lens.
When: February 1 | Showings at 2 PM & 7 PM

4. Immerse Yourself in a Unique Sound Experience

There’s a new music ensemble on the block! Eko Chamber Collective is a live electro-acoustic ensemble that utilizes spatialized performance techniques that cater to reverberant spaces. Founded by our very own Herman “Soy Sos” Pearl, the collective makes its debut at the Andy Warhol Sound Series. The collective features Soy Sos on electronics, Brittany Trotter (flute), Anqwenique Kinsel (voice), Sadie Powers (bass), Paul Thompson (bass), and Brian Riordan (live processing). the group creates an immersive sound environment by collaborating with the acoustics and architecture of spaces and this site-specific performance has been developed with the Warhol Museum entrance space in mind.
