We’re continuing to bring you more ways to support your body and mind as well as connect with the Pittsburgh community. In this edition of the PearlArts Round-Up, we’re sharing Pittsburgh’s upcoming art events for artists of all ages and disciplines and online mental health platforms to unwind.

  1. Alumni Theatre Company presents The Color Inside

Alumni Theatre Company presents The Color Series! The creativity of these young artists will not be contained. Join ATC daily for new material that explores the many colors that are held within these beautiful young performers.

It seems like people take one glance and they’ve already made their mind up about me. Assumption after assumption. People see what they want to see. But if you took the time to get to know me, you’d see that there is so much more to me. I hold every color inside of me."

More details to come.

2. Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre: Dance The Story

Join Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre on Facebook for Dance the Story, an up-on-your-feet story time that introduces kids to basic ballet steps and movement concepts. Explore movement and dance using a beloved children’s story read by PBT teaching artists accompanied by live music. Caregivers are welcome to dance along and learn to bring books to life with movement.

For additional activities, recorded programs and more information on Dance the Story, visit the Dance the Story at Home page on the PBT website.

Weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00am

4. Daily OM

Recommended by co-executive and artistic director Staycee Pearl, DailyOM features a universal approach to holistic living for the mind, body, and spirit and supports people who want to live a conscious lifestyle. DailyOM was founded in 2004 by Madisyn Taylor and Scott Blum, and was born out of their desire to bring the world together by offering messages of consciousness and awareness to people of all walks of life.

5. Headspace

You’ve probably come across this mental health app frequently, but according to production manager Ally Tayag Ricarte, headspace can flip a day from overwhelming to productive within 20 minutes. The app guides you through basic meditation skills, such as noting and body scanning, and aims to build your strength to self-regulate during those turbulent moments.

Try Headspace for free here.
