Join us for a work-in-progress showing by PearlDiving Resident, Jasmine Hearn. With collaborating artists, Kadie Henderson and Jo Elizabeth Stewart, Jasmine Hearn will be sharing new work that is currently untitled. It's a listening that has been revealing itself with its first chapter titled, Higher Hoe-- a solo in progress that uses sound and body to remember. They will be putting together a web of song, moves, and stillness to continue researching thoughts on constellations, thot, and morning car rides singing to school.

Jasmine Hearn, a native Houstonian, graduated from Point Park University. A Bronx based choreographer, performer, and dancer, she currently collaborates with filmmaker and visual artist, Alisha B. Wormsley. A part of the performance cast of TRANSMISSIONS, an exhibition by Nick Mauss at the Whitney Museum, Jasmine has also worked and performed with David Dorfman Dance, Solange Knowles, will rawls, Holly Bass, Kate Watson Wallace, STAYCEE PEARL dance project, Marjani Forte Saunders, Jenn Meridian, Helen Simoneau Danse, and Lovie Olivia. Awarded a 2017 "Bessie" Award for Outstanding Performance as a part of the ensemble, Skeleton Architecture, Jasmine recently was an artist in residence at The Camargo Foundation and a 2018 Dancing While Black fellow.

PearlDiving Movement Residency supports professional artists/choreographers making movement-based work by providing rehearsal space, technical support, mentorship, and a stipend. The dual-track program serves both local and visiting artists and offers time in an environment where research, play, and risk-taking are encouraged in order to create and present new work. More at
